LVN-ADN Alvin Community College /College of the Mainland Summer 2022

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

I'm starting a thread for those applying for the LVN-ADN programs at Alvin Community College and College of the Mainland starting Summer 2022.

I don't expect an answer until Mid April or so.

HESI overall: 90 GPA: 3.1

I'm also applying to San Jacinto South, although this would be my third choice. It is one semester longer, so I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. Scheduled my HESI specialty exam for 3/19/2022, however there's no minimum score at this time.

Good luck everyone.

Awesome! I got accepted, super excited!

Has anyone been accepted into Alvin LVN-RN program? I applied but haven’t received a denial or approval. I have a cumulative of 88, and GPA 3.6.

Yes I received my acceptance e-mail on 4-12 and another student on this thread received the #1 alternate spot e-mail same day.

It’s like my application wasn’t even acknowledged. I have no emails at all. ? I applied at another school but I heard so much information about their program. Do you know if denial letters are even a thing? Like should I have received a email saying no? Are so they only email the accepted people.

Do you have an e-mail with the college? If you don't I would check your spam mail. If there isn't anything there I would call and ask. They would have sent a denial e-mail by now I would think. I know the deadline for people who are accepted to respond is today. Either way I would call them today.

I would email the ACC secretary [email protected] and ask.

COM extended their application period.

They are closed until Monday ???

I applied there too. I feel I will get in there. Most people that attended my meeting didn’t even have the required GPA and last I had checked they had like 40 applications but were going to take 30 I think she said

I only applied to COM wish I would have applied a couple of different places. A lot of people I know that went to COM said it was hard but I think they have a whole new staff of instructors, so it may be different this time.
Has anyone gotten an email or letter from COM yet about acceptance?

Nope at the meeting they had the director said they would send emails May 16th. Which I think is extremely late, considering classes start in June.

It maybe new professors but the program itself is unorganized and I failed the LVN there. I regretted being there, but I am not giving up and going to Alvin in the next month. The transition program was hard from what I heard. The professors weren’t willing to teach their students and didn’t care to set the students for success and only were there for their paycheck. Wish y’all luck!!

May 16th that is definitely more the 1-2 weeks after the application deadline. How will people know if they didn’t go to the meeting? Well hopefully it’s sooner if not then oh well but it doesn’t give you much time to coordinate your life around it.
