Hi!
I am looking for anyone who is attending/has graduated from LCCC's nursing program. Can you please share your acceptance details (when you got your letter, g.p.a., pax scores)? The school is so vague with their admissions details and rumors are constantly flying.
At the other end of the spectrum, if you have been denied admission to the program when did you get your letter, did they give a reason for denial?
Thank you to anyone who can help :) :)
Just an update. My webadvisor says "accepted" as of today!!! Beyond excited! Now waiting for the letter to come to make it official!
Have you been contacted about orientation or registering for intro to nursing? I left a message about the clearances, I got the same packet as everyone else with the same due date, March 20 which is kind of impossible since we barely have a week whereas everyone had a month.

I left a message as well. I already have 2 of the clearances, but the finger printing one says it can take up to 4-6 weeks to come back, so I asked if I just hand in my registration page or if I have the facility print something to hand in to say I had it done, but waiting for results. Not sure though. I haven't heard back yet. It's kind of out of our hands though, ya know? I mean, it's just not possible if we're waiting on someone else.

I just spoke to someone, she said they wouldn't penalize us late "aceptees ". After we submit the clearances we get a bigger packet in the mail. She said orientation is May 25/26.
Just wanted to post for anyone that status still says applied, I talked to someone in the health department, she told me if you scored below pax score they didn't even review the application. Which is why it still says applied. I was told to retake it this april, and if I pass id have a good chance at getting in.

Yeah, she said I could submit the other two and the proof of finger printing (pretty much a receipt saying the prints were sent and the facility name), then when the actual report comes in the mail, I can just drop it off to her. She also said at this point, they're really looking for deposits form us, which should hold our seat until the checks are submitted.

Have you gotten the nln study guide yet? I think it helps, especially as a physics refresher. I used that and got a 141 on the pax. Unfortunately I did not have enough pre reqs done so I did not get in this year. I will have everything done in December so I should be good for next year. My application is already in :)

I actually bought it a week before the test! How dumb I was. Didn't get to study it at all. I'm hoping studying it now will atleast get me to 100. How did you manage the math part? It wasn't very hard but the time ran out so fast, that is what made me fail. I'm sure once you get your classes done, you will be in no problem. She told me since I only had one class to do, my chances of getting in were high, she even told me she was sorry that they didn't even look at my application or tell me that they wouldn't if I scored below. It just really sucks having to wait a whole year! Just because of a test, another year wasted I feel

Try not to look at it as a wasted year. Use this time to study for the pax. Take it in April. If you do not pass, take it in the fall. You have two chances to pass it! :) they do not care what the score is, just that you get over 100. The best advice I have for that test is just to relax. Do not obsess over the clock. Math scares a lot of people because they perceive it to be hard but if you just learn the basic rules (geometry, converting decimals and fractions, order of operations etc. etc.) you will be fine.
And remember lccc only wants the composite score over 100 so if you aren't that good at math you can make up for in in the verbal and science section.
Do all the practice tests in the book, it is really going to help you. You will get over a 100 this time. Have faith in yourself because a positive attitude is definitely going to help you the morning you sit down for that test. :)
The practice test truly helped for me. And the good thing is that you have 2 more chances to pass, if you don't pass in the spring you can take it again in the fall before the deadline.
I think what was key for me in passing the math was pacing myself. If I found myself taking too long on a question I would pass it and come back later to it. The practice tests on the CD helped me get used the the timing, I made sure to do them with a timer.
Also when I thought I wasn't getting i was planning on taking classes I would need for my RN to BSN anyway, statistics, nutrition, history, etc, so it wouldn't be a totally wasted year.
