Hi all!
Lucile Packard just opened their next round of applications. Just wanted to start a thread to talk about it! This is my second time applying, and it was so helpful to have support from one another.
Are you applying/did you apply? What units are you most interested in?
I applied for PICU and Pedi Acute ?

I think if critical care hasn't been notified about 2nd interviews they might not be having them and you might just get a call with either an offer/rejection.
I would be thrilled not to have to do a second interview for critical care. But we’ll see. They were late with the first round of interview invites so I wouldn’t be too surprised if they’re behind for second interviews too. I just want to know ?

Yes, exactly. 72 hours would’ve been Sunday evening but we still haven’t heard from the specific Hem/Onc units to schedule our 2nd interviews. I’m with you thinking critical care might not have 2nd interviews this round if y’all haven’t been notified yet. Hem/Onc and critical care flip flopped from last cohort hahaha!

Hahaha same! Last cohort we had our initial interviews for Hem/Onc, no 2nd interview, and it took them roughly 3 1/2 weeks to notify us if we got the position or not ? It was a rough waiting season, that’s for sure. Hoping we hear something this week though and have offers by the end of the month ??

OMG that’s such a long wait! Hoping it’s not so long. I have some other offers on the table that I’ve been trying to hold onto as long as possible while waiting to see how Packard goes. It’s such a competitive program and they seem to make their decisions later than any of the surrounding programs ☹️
Hem/Onc update! We just received an email a few hours ago (finally LOL) from the Bass Center department and they are scheduling our 2nd interview for next Wednesday.
The email said that they would be asking more patient population specific questions and more general questions to “get to know us better,” like strengths, weaknesses, why LPCH, etc. It’s with the managers of the units and they said each interview would be roughly 25 minutes with hopefully 2 interviewees at a time.
Hope this info on the 2nd interview helps! And praying for those that haven’t heard anything at all - I was in your shoes last cohort and it is so valid to be anxious, worried, frustrated not knowing. Keep the faith, we’re in this together, and I cannot wait to hear terrific news! ?
