Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital New Grad RN Residency March 2021

Published

Hi all!

Lucile Packard just opened their next round of applications. Just wanted to start a thread to talk about it! This is my second time applying, and it was so helpful to have support from one another.

Are you applying/did you apply? What units are you most interested in?

I applied for PICU and Pedi Acute ?

Specializes in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.

Thank you so much for the reply! I'll definitely keep checking for test dates. Have you heard of people being successfully hired when they applied a second time? I wonder if they would count it as a negative against my application when they saw that I had already applied and interviewed but was not successful in getting my license on time

Hello everyone! So sorry for not responding sooner, but here to say that yes, you do need license before start date - no exceptions. I was offered position in fall 2020 cohort then didn’t have my license in time so had to defer offer :( BUT I was heavily encouraged to re-apply a second time for Spring 2021 and they offered me the position! So it is possible and if you’re meant to be there, you will be - don’t give up! Love what others had to say, keep looking around and do you!

Thank you so much for responding! I was able to work out my test date after all so things are looking much better! Really appreciate the advice! And congrats to you for getting the position, that is truly amazing! So happy for you!

@nursejess619this is a long shot; I'm sorry to bother you. I wanted to get your advice and if there are any tips regarding the interview process.  what the interview process is like? what should I expect? What type of questions did they ask? I applied for critical care. I am very anxious and nervous. Hoping to hear from you.
