LTC/Nursing home pay

Published

hi all!

I am going to be graduating from NCC this May with my associates in nursing, taking the nclex hopefully in july.

I know that hospitals do not take RNs that dont have bachelors but i have a connection that can possibly get me a job ibn a nursing home. Just wondering what the pay rate in a LTC facility is as compared to the hospital these days. Honestly will be happy with any job and i feel that working in a care facility would be very rewarding. Any input/insight is appreciated!

thanks ;)

I wouldn't take anything less than 25 an hour. That's about tr average for new RN pay in LTC. Trust me. You'll be doing more than you think. It's nothing to have two day fresh post ops, wound vacs, Jp drains, iv fluids and antibiotics, confused dementia patients mixed in with psychiatric patients. You'll love it though! Yes. Take no less than 25 an hour. Because you will be earning every cent of that.

I believe $33 or $34/hour at my facility to start. Plus there is a differential for eves and nights. GL

That's not bad.... Im looking at LTC as well.
