LSU School of Nursing SPRING 2014 :-)

Published

Hey guys...I started the LSU Fall 2013 Thread and got wait listed :unsure:... haven't heard anything back from them except that all their spots are full. So I'm getting ready to apply for their spring semester. For the rest of the folks who got wait listed with me let's get to making things happen for spring! I welcome any advice or pointers. I also went through the whole interview process, if anyone has anything to share or any questions please don't hesitate to post.

@chin05 From what I gathered it's all 3 days, December 16-18th!

Thanks! Lol guess we're in for the long haul

I'm in Ponchatoula and nothing over here either.

Do we have to wear uniforms? Random question I know...Is it too soon? Yes I am super anxious I know but orientation is just sooo far away! Lol

@Chin05 I read that our first semester we can just wear regular clothes but I think we need scrubs for anatomy lab (any color). I think we start wearing uniforms for clinicals our 2nd semester. I'm not entirely sure, but I remember reading this somewhere on another LSU BSN post :)

@chin05 on previous posts I read that this is your second time applying , how does the roll over application work? Did you have to write a new statement paper and stuff? I'm just wondering so I can start preparing :)

@gerbz thanks! I guess that makes sense. I need to take a chill pill right?! :nurse: #firstyearissues smh

Actually there is no roll over application. You have to submit a brand new application. I had my personal statement edited and updated my work history and classes and resubmitted the application. Then the agonizing waiting period. First time I took the HESI it was a dreadful 75 or something, I worked overnight for like 3 days and my day job and after about 2 hours of sleep took it, not a brilliant idea on my end. I retook it a few months later and got a higher score. So try to change the things that you can control. I had mock interviews with my friends, even had my boss do a few with me. Good luck!

hahah don't worry, I feel the same way! I wish orientation was sooner; I'm so anxious!

I read through the page for the spring 2013 applicants and they started receiving letters pretty late. I think there were issues and maybe the hurricane had to do with it... Anyways people started getting their letters around Nov 29th and the deadline to send in the acceptance form was Dec 7th. Some people didn't even receive their letters until Dec 12th. This year letters started coming in on Oct. 22nd and acceptance forms were due Nov 1st

So maybe if it's the same this year those of us who have not heard anything will finally know something this week!

Trying to stay positive here

There's still hope for all of us that haven't received anything yet. No matter what, we still have to get some type of letter. But the second batch of letters just went out this past week. So time for us to just stay positive

Kara22, it was a letter

Does anyone know anything about the advising sessions? When I go to the link they gave to sign up for one, the only dates on there are from 2012...lol
