LSU Fall 2018 BSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello from California! Thought it was time to create a thread for those applying for LSU's 2018 Fall BSN program. This thread is set up for hopes of meeting (comparing info) with future students, and would love feedback from those that have applied before and or are currently in the LSU BSN program.

Couple of questions:

Where you from (though I am sure most are from the LA area, I am coming from San Diego, military spouse)?

Where are you currently going to school?

Have you taken the HESI yet? If so how was it? Study recommendations?

Are you currently an EMT/CNA/RNA or any other form health provider?

I am personally super excited, beyond nervous, and honestly have my head down working my bum off to get up to this point.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Also I know myself and others would GREATLY appreciate any information (average GPA's, HESI scores, personalities, interview process, essay questions) from current or past students.

Alrighty *fist bump*, we got this!

Sorry my message didn't go through. I was going to say that you'll probably finish by 12pm. Let us know how it went once you're done

The essay went really well! I did not rush and had enough time. When did he said we would find out about our acceptance or denial?

Nice! He said you should expect to hear back in the next month so sometime in April. Do you think you have a good chance of getting in?

@tamhuynh16 Hey, I go to Xavier too. What year are you?

@deelesielle im a sophomore. and @nurseguy IDK! don't want to jinx myself

I'm really anxious too. What was your prereq GPA if you mind me asking?

Mines a 3.5 you?

3.8, how many maths did you take? They said during the information sessions that they'd take your highest math grade as long as it was College Algebra math or higher and it was transferable. I got an A in Calc 1 at LSU-BR but a B in college algebra at UNO. So I might have a 4.0 on my prereqs. I just hope where you took your prereqs doesn't matter.

I had a P for college algebra so i didn't take it. And i took precalc and stats. And i dont think the school matters as long as your gpa and everything is good.

I took stats and precalc too. They used to take 2000 level stats for their biostats/stats class but now they're not doing it. Also, are you working on your second semester prereqs right now? They wont let you into the school unless you have them completed even if you are accepted.

I actually finish all my pre-reqs im just doing the last 3credit hour of humanities but everything lse they needed before getting in is done. :)

Awesome, what are you taking as your last humanity?
