I know we can't choose times but the schedule they posted all have the same times just different professors. So I just assumed we could pick the professors.

Anyone know someone in the school? I'm wondering what professors to look out for so I can start registering for classes.

Do's 1. whatever you have to submit, submit ASAP 2. Make sure you entered all the courses correctly in NursingCAS 3. You have at least a B in your sciences, even microbiology. If you get accepted then fail microbiology afterwards they will decline you 4. go to information sessions 5. Practice your interview questions before using your first attempt 6. Worry more about the structure, grammar, and quality of your essay than the actual content. They want to see if you can write and stay on topic with the question, not what your answer is. for example, don't try to create this out of the world essay about how you saved this guy from a burning building. If you did, great, but let your writing skills carry the essay not the story. Don't 1. Start on the hardest part of the HESI first. Do the easiest parts for yourself first so you can leave the rest of your time for the hardest parts 2. Forget to check your email daily after submitting your application. 3. Do the interview at the last minute 4. Show up to the essay late. the tour is first so if you're late then you'll miss the tour which means you will be extra late to the essay

Hey theknittynurse! Haven't heard from you in a while. I only applied to LSU as of now but I did plan to apply to Delgado too. I might still apply to Delgado's spring in case I fail out of LSU lol.

They said at the information session that a 3.5 should be your goal if you're trying to be competitive. I honestly think the hardest part is the interview, they really want to see your mindset and if you really want to be in the program and want to be a nurse. The GPA, HESI, and even the essay are just ways for them to measure your knowledge. I do recommend you go to the information session or at least participate in the webinar session. I went to two information sessions and participated in one webinar and it helped a lot.

If they used my calculus grade then my prereq GPA should be a 4.0 and my overall also 4.0. If not then it was probably like 3.8 and my HESI was an 88%. I also recommend volunteering since it helps you talk about the interview and essay.
