LSU BSN

U.S.A. Louisiana

Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

Hi Guys! Im new and I'm looking into attending LSUHSC as of right now I attend DCC, I was wondering if anyone knows their acceptance rate?? and what are my chances of getting in with at 3.0???

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Csmith06, LSU looks at your prereq GPA

abjones, LSU considers applicants with a 2.8 or above. However, the usual average GPA for students who are accepted is around a 3.4 or above.... this does not mean you will not get in! make sure you don't have any C's in sciences and if you score high on the NET you have a good chance

the school is pretty hard so my biggest advice to you would be to buy your textbook early and start reading up a little bit over the summer. phys is realllyyyy hard but i think a new teacher is taking over next semester? either way you will have to study your ass off for it. for anatomy, pay attention in lab!! and for intro to nursing, you need to actually study for the tests! alot of people didnt expect it to be challenging and as a result i know many people who didnt get the grade they expected to.

just know you will probably not sleep, and you will probably not have the kind of social life you had before! haha but you make really good friends and its still alot of fun eventhough all you do is study!!

could you tell me a little more about the projects and presentations required. Are they all group or all individual-what is the usual required format/content, how are the instructors and how are the classes, etc...? Would you recommend the program, and if you are familiar with CARE are the classes the same? Sorry its so many questions but I would like some advice from someone who has gone through one of these programs, thanks!

Hi guys! I'm new to this so I wanted to ask you guys some questions since I see that some of yall got accepted! First congrats!! Thats gotta be so exciting!! okay so im applying for Spring 2010, and I'm worried that my chances are low to getting in. I have a 3.5 and I'm taking the NET soon but I'm only 19. Do you think that me being so young will affect my chances of getting in? I've taken all the prereqs except micro, which i will be taking in the fall and I've also taken classes that will give me credit at LSU like the biometry class, humanities in a 3000 level, etc. If I get a good score on the NET, do you think that my age will be something they hold against me?

Has anyone else applied for LSU traditional nursing program starting Spring 2010 semester?

I'm on the edge of my seat (feels like I have been for months) wondering when the letters are going to go out for acceptance/denial.

All of you in your first semester: how is it going? Any advice?

Thanks to all!

i applied for Spring 2010 and they told me that the committee meets the beginning of this week (yesterday and today) and the list has already been made. They told me we should get our letters by the end of this week or next week! im so nervous!! They only accepted 100!

Well its comforting to know I'm not the only one going crazy waiting. Good Luck!

thanks u too!!! Ill def keep u posted on when i get my letter!

It definitely must be in the air because I've been antsy about when a letter will be coming all day too. Waiting until Friday or next week feels quite torturous.

And ditto, it is good to know I'm not the only one biting the proverbial fingernails. Talk to you guys on the flip side.

I'm waiting for my letter from SELU.. it doesn't seem like there are many SELU people on this forum. Anyway, I'm just as anxious as you guys are!! Good luck!

I have never been this crazy about waiting for something in my life! After reading the earlier posts I'm not stalking the mailman so much as stalking my e-mail!

I got in!!! Check your emails, people!! I was dead sure my not particularly good NET math score would doom me!

Hallelujah. And good luck!
