There is no way to accurately state an average HESI score for incoming LSU BSN students, because you are the first group of students to take this test and therefore there isn't a precedent. The only idea you could get would be if someone replies to your requests for their scores, and that will by no means reflect the average of all applicants. If you want to get an idea you might call student intake and try to get info from them, as was suggested in earlier posts. Also, if you're trying to get people to actually post their scores and GPA, I doubt you'll get an answer if you don't post your own first Try to not to stress too much y'all! :monkeydance:

I was in a similar boat as you with a good prereq GPA, then an unsatisfactory score on some sections of the test and great on others. I desperately wanted to retake the test, however it was too close to the deadline and I was unable to do so, which led to much anxiety on my part, but I got in! They are not expecting you to have a great score on anatomy and physiology, I'm with charliehopeful, call and ask for advice, and you will probably be pleasantly surprised. Sounds to me like you have a pretty good chance.

I failed the TEAS-RN so now going for Charity LPN...what do you think?
Also, it really, REALLY isn't all about GPA. Pretty sure they use a pre-req GPA not your overall. Charity spells out the matrix they use to the T on their website, so take as many prereq's they offer points for as possible. That would help even a lowish TEAS score. I believe you get a sweet point bonus for already having a degree, for starters. It's in your control! I did not have a 3.8 and I got in. And my TEAS score was only ok. Seriously, you know what to expect now, and a lot of people do poorly the first time. Do not give up!

We go to the lab tomorrow to meet the cadavers, discuss rules and get generally oriented. I think this will be at noon. However I'm sure this will be discussed in class tomorrow, which is at 9. Right after Anatomy which is at 8. Seeya then! (Bright and early).

Ideas for a clinical "cheat sheet" ?
Wow! Starting school in Jan for BSN and I just had my first extensive nursing dream last night. It was quite frantic, but at the end there was one woman who told me to type up helpful notes to keep in my badge holder for easy use. Then I got my weekly allnurses email with the "cheat sheet" as one of the major topic headlines! Love it when dreams and reality come together so well!

On a positive note.......
Nice to hear this. I just spent an hour browsing this section where I don't yet belong, letting my happiness, confidence, and pride in my accomplishment (acceptance to my school of choice) deflate like a sad, sad balloon. Yet I couldn't stop reading them, thread after thread, over and over. It was crazy watching myself crash like that, knowing I was happy about my future in nursing, and studying anatomy and physiology (even though school doesn't start til Jan.) just this afternoon. In any case, now that I have read your thread I am never coming back here. If I am to find out hard truths I will have to do it for myself and not rely on these stories, especially since the world will be a different place in three years. And especially since I'm a tad doom oriented anyway as far as my "big picture of the world and everything" outlook goes. The bad stories will always outweigh the good on the interweb simply because people who are stressed and upset necessarily seek support while those who happen to be content probably have survivors guilt, and fear they'll be seen as gloating about being happy in this apparent sea of discontent. In any case, I am glad you see the value in posting your positive story. It has certainly had value for me.

Great job everyone! Congrats! You know that if you have LA residency the program has probably one of the best price to quality ratios in the country. Lucky us... Anyway, no packet yet. Is the advising session the same thing as the panel interview or different? Just curious. The scary part is over for me either way :loveya:

It definitely must be in the air because I've been antsy about when a letter will be coming all day too. Waiting until Friday or next week feels quite torturous. And ditto, it is good to know I'm not the only one biting the proverbial fingernails. Talk to you guys on the flip side.
