Hi everybody,
Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.
nix....
I AM SURE that your score is just fine! I scored a 90 and feel pretty confident with that because I have a high GPA. I would not worry at all! I am more concerned about the interview than anything- and of course I hope they liked my written statement. It is those things that have me nervous because so much of the application points consist of those two things-- And they are dependent on the person reading it/ interviewing you and the style they prefer. Ah-- I think I am over analyzing this all TOO much, but I can't help it!
I heard the hesi exam carries the least amount of weight when considering applicants. I was told that by someone at lsu in new orleans. The main concerns are gpa, interview and written statement. The average all three of those to get a score. It also seems like everyone is getting interviewed on the same day. Someone on the forum said 140 people apllied. Good luck to everyone.

I totally agree with you Kona and I feel the exact same as you do. I got an 88 on my Hesi and I have a really high gpa but what most worries me is the interview and the essay for the same reasons as you. Guys they werent expecting us to get outstanding scores on our Hesis. I think that for the most part the anatomy and phys portion brought our scores down. They were expecting this. They know that most people havent taken A&P because its not one of our prereqs so I'm really comfortable with my score now. So like someone else said a good Hesi score is anything over the class average of 80. I asked both advisors if I should retake it and they both told me that I had a really good score. So those of you with scores around mine I wouldnt sweat it. And as for the person wondering about their 3.5 gpa, really dont worry. You are fine. I have a friend who got in fall semester with a 3.2 or 3.4 (i cant remember which one but I know it ended in an even number lol) and an 86 Hesi score. So basically we just need to ace our interviews!!! Kinda nervous about that but we have some time to prepare. I really hope we all get in that would be so cool! :)

I scored a 91.02% my first test I was really nervous because I hadn't prepared in any way and the class average wasn't listed as a percent so I wasn't sure how I ranked. I called Mr. Landry and clarified the score. He stated it was a very good score and he definitely didn't think I needed to retake the test, but that he wouldn't tell me what I should or shouldn't do.
