LSU BSN

Published

Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

So has anyone received a call today about setting up an interview just wondering if they've been making more calls

i havent. maybe tommorow?

so everyone who turns in an application is not qualified? i thought if you turned in an application you were qualified? so i guess its good if you get an interview. well good luck everyone on the interview hope we get in. WHO DAT!!!!!!

Not everyone who applies is qualified, like me for example. I thought I was qualified, but since I got a D twice in ENGL 1157 at UNO (in 1997) I am not eligible to apply (ever). I got amnesty on my bad grades when I went to Nunez (that was 2003, and now I have a 3.51 overall), but that doesn't matter. A D or F in any prerequisite twice makes you ineligible to apply indefinitely. I assumed that my amnesty would transfer to LSU so I applied, but it doesn't, so I guess what they say about people who assume is true :) Good luck to everyone who interviews. WE DAT!!!

Thanks,

i have an interview for sept 18!

Hey 2blsunurse when did you get called for your interview?

Hey Everyone! So I got the call today for my interview! Sat September 18th, I chose 10:30, Ms. Dukes said that the there were two time slots completely filled in at this time don't remember the times though now because it was all a rush of information! I'm just so excited :) I'm really hoping that the interview is less of a weeding out process and more just to get to know us face to face and make sure our personalities match up with our essays and nursing. When I asked about timelines I was told that 4 weeks after the application deadline I should hear about an interview or not, and four weeks after the interview receive an acceptance or denial letter, so far they are on track with that timeline. That gives us till the end of October to find out if we have gotten in or not...wishful thinking :) Good luck everyone!

Hey y'all I just talked to the LSU baton rouge advisor and she told me to tell y'all that if of you have not received an interview don't worry. You will everyone gets one. There was no special order of how ppl are called. It's just gonna take a while to call everyone. She said 140 ppl applied 100 will get in. She also said that if u have a relatively high gap and hesi score you should be fine. So I hope that helps or answers any questions you may have.

ha a relatively high GPA i mean. Not gap lol

So I finally got my call for an interview today-- now I can breathe! Interestingly it is also on September 18th like everyone else. When I spoke with the lady she said that the interviews is going from 9-3 and will be scheduled in thirty minute increments. There were only three time slots that were completely full as far as this afternoon. It sounds like to me that this is going to be a mass interview session for all those who are chosen to interview. She said to just go to the atrium and there will be people there to sign us in. Maybe it will be like a speed dating scenario... that could be fun :jester: Although since I am married I have only ever seen it on tv.... so excited. So to all those who have not received calls, it sounds like there is plenty more room so do not stress out just yet!!!

thanks for the information on the GPA and HESI scores-- that made the knots in my stomach drop down a level!

What is a high HESI score? Anyone score over a 90?

I would assume anything higher than our class average, which seemed to fluctuate between 77 and 80 each time I checked it
