Hi everybody,
Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.
Thanks Sarjan1!
I assume it is hard to call 140 people in just a few days so i am sure everyone will get a call if they filled the basic requirements
I did get to pick my time. Its actually a great day for me to do it because I will already be in NOLA for the weekend.
Im not nervous about the interview though. I love talking to people and I think its going to be a sort of semi-casual conversation.
Is everyone going on Sept 18th? Thats the date I see everyone is going on. 140 people in a 6 hour time period seems like a lot. Is anyone out there going a different day? I dont think the interview is going to be as bad as we expect it. 100 people get excepted out of 140 so i think everyone has a pretty good shot!!
nix....I AM SURE that your score is just fine! I scored a 90 and feel pretty confident with that because I have a high GPA. I would not worry at all! I am more concerned about the interview than anything- and of course I hope they liked my written statement. It is those things that have me nervous because so much of the application points consist of those two things-- And they are dependent on the person reading it/ interviewing you and the style they prefer. Ah-- I think I am over analyzing this all TOO much, but I can't help it!
Kona~ Thanks for the encouragement :) I have a 3.5+ GPA with the HESI score and an awesome interview (fingers crossed) hopefully everything will go my way! My personal statement was by far the most nit-picked issue I had I read over it so much that I waited till the very last day to turn in my application packet so I knew there was nothing more I could do to it! S-T-R-E-S-S !
I'm really not too worried anymore. I think the interview will be fine. I know why I want to be a nurse and I'm sure that I will have an honest answer for any question they will ask. I heard the interview is really laid back and they are really friendly. So if you like to talk as much as I do or honestly want to be a nurse for the all the right reasons I dont think anyone here will have a problem with the interview. We all have a very good chance of getting in. Our Hesi scores and our gpa's are good so we really dont have anything to worry about. We just need to relax. I realized that worrying about this application process is going to make me crazy. I just have to know that if LSUHSC is where God wants me to be next semester that is where I'll be. It's in His hands and I'm at the mercy of the interviewers so why stress? All I can do is answer honestly and from the heart and if it wasn't meant to be, it wasn't meant to be. But I do think that we are all fine and have an excellent chance. All we have to do now is go in and seal the deal. Good luck everyone!!! :loveya:
