Hi everybody,
Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.
I dunno how it'll work for you guys but last semester we had it from 1-4 on Thursdays in LR1 - maybe it will be the same? I'm sure there are enough of you taking it that word will get around. That's how it happened with us. We had no clue until 10 minutes before the start of class.
The instructor doesn't use Moodle or LSUHSC email at all. She'll give you her personal email on your first day. Bring stuff to take notes, that's all you'll need in class (you'll wanna have the book for reading at home).
Hey!! Congrats on gettin into LSUHSC's program! I'm not applying until September but I am so excited and so nervous about gettin in. Right now I have all the pre-reqs done but I got 2 C's in chem and micro so I have a 3.4 gpa. I'm retaking them this semester at LSU so that I can apply with a higher gpa. I talked to an advisor on the New Orleans campus and and they said that they don't even look that much into gpa's anymore as long as you have a 2.8 and are well rounded in the other areas such as the interview. I am soo nervous about the interview!! I know this may seem way too early to even worry about it but do you have any advice for me concerning the interview process such as the type of questions? I keep thinking they will ask me an off the wall question and that I'll be stuck. If you can give me any advice on what to expect I would be so so grateful...
anxious: They changed a lot of the acceptance process this past semester. Students entering the BSN program this semester didn't have to interview, we wrote the "goals" paper and completed the class requirements. If you wait a couple months and ask again maybe you will find someone who interviewed for the fall semester and they will be able to tell you more about what to expect.
Either way keep in touch with this thread, it kept me from going crazy. Plus when everyone else on here was writing about how they had gotten in I realized something was wrong because I hadn't received an e-mail telling me I was denied or accepted. So I contacted the school and found out they had missed me on the e-mail list! If I hadn't been in touch with the other hopeful's on this board I would have gone crazy wondering when I was going to get my letter!
Good luck in your chem and micro!
