Hi all!
I've recently changed my major to pre-nursing, and am applying for the Spring 2015 semester this August! I've got tons of questions, and also have gathered a lot of research about the program from past forums and current students. This thread, I'm sure, will be helpful in both easing our nerves and providing insight about the upcoming application process! It seems to be different for every semester. I get attacked by my anxiety every time I question if my GPA will suffice! Has anyone started the application process yet (i.e., personal statement, HESI, etc.?)
Hey, y'all!
I sent my application in July, and I received an email not long after saying that I was qualified to interview. However, I haven't heard anything about what date they are planning to interview. Does anyone know? Just trying plan my semester (and not worry too much) thanks, y'all!
Wait, sorry, I did send my application to them about a month and a week early, so they probably didn't have many then and looked at mine pretty soon. I'm sure they're going through a ton of them now, so y'all will all probably get emails at the same time!! PLUS, i just answered my own question- I guess they can't have an interview date set until they know how many people are qualified to interview. Sorry got antsy waiting
I am in the restaurant industry as well. I work with 3 girls who are already in the program, and they seem to be doing fine. It's all about how you handle stress and time management. I will continue to work if I get accepted for the spring. I have a 91 hesi and a 3.7 GPA, but I do not feel confident about my written statement. Best of luck!

I also applied for the spring 2015 semester I got a 74% on the hesi test and my GPA is a 3.5. I went to the informational thing at the Heath science center and talked with a woman who worked there and she told me this is how everything is weighted: GPA 40%, interview 25%,goal paper 25% and hesi score 10%. I was worried for a while about my hesi score but I have been told by students who have gotten accepted in past semesters as long as you got a 70% or better on the hesi your good. I am hoping that it will be enough to get in, I am also hoping my background of having my EMT basic license will help and the fact I have been working in an ER for over a year will give me a boost, but I can only hope. I wish everyone could get in that applies make everything a lot less nerve racking!
