LSU BSN Spring 2015

Published

Hi all!

I've recently changed my major to pre-nursing, and am applying for the Spring 2015 semester this August! I've got tons of questions, and also have gathered a lot of research about the program from past forums and current students. This thread, I'm sure, will be helpful in both easing our nerves and providing insight about the upcoming application process! It seems to be different for every semester. I get attacked by my anxiety every time I question if my GPA will suffice! Has anyone started the application process yet (i.e., personal statement, HESI, etc.?)

I wonder if we do not get an invite for an interview, will they send you an email or a letter stating better luck next time?

If you don't get an interview They'll send a letter stating why!

Hey I am applying with a 3.382 GPA and a 74 on my HESI ( i dont test well at all). But this is my second time around applying. I got waitlisted last semester when I applied.

Did they let you know why you got wait listed or anything?

In the letter they sent me they just said that it was due to having so many applications and to confirm my wait listed spot because someone may not want to attend the school anymore. They do not tell you where you are on that list either.

From what I was told anyone who is qualified will have an interview. Anyone else heard this?

Yes, I have heard this too. I think as long as you have all of application parts in you get an interview!

Hi guys. I also applied to LSU for Spring 2015 and I just want to say thank you to all because I find comfort in reading all the comments that you guys left. Its very comforting to find that there's a lot of people that are feeling the same way as I am. Hopefully we all get in. :)

This is my first time applying so I'm very nervous. Also, I'm at loss on what to do if I dont get in. Should I continue school and apply again or should I stop school and keep applying till I get in? After this semester, I'm finish with all my pre-requisites so I dont really know what to do. What did you guys do?

If you don't get in, try again for the following semester. Try and get a job at a clinic or hospital, or maybe go for a CNA or EMT certification. Best of luck!

I actually finished all my prerequisite this past spring semester and I put my tops on hold for the fall 2014 and I worked. It is my first time applying as well. So I hope taking the semester off was worth it (:

talk to your advisor if you go to LSU talk to Jennifer Smith and she will give you the application and write you a letter so that you can send off to tops to be approved for the hold. They will also ask you to write a brief letter stating the semester and your reason why you are asking to have the hold.
