LSU BSN Spring 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all!

I've recently changed my major to pre-nursing, and am applying for the Spring 2015 semester this August! I've got tons of questions, and also have gathered a lot of research about the program from past forums and current students. This thread, I'm sure, will be helpful in both easing our nerves and providing insight about the upcoming application process! It seems to be different for every semester. I get attacked by my anxiety every time I question if my GPA will suffice! Has anyone started the application process yet (i.e., personal statement, HESI, etc.?)

yes same here. the times are for anatomy and physiology are conflicting with intro to prof nursing. I'm not sure what to do.

Neither do I.. I'm going to wait until about 8:30 and call someone about the issue. This is much too confusing with little to no guidance!

Please do so. and if you don't mind can u please share the details of what they told you or how they're going to resolve this. As of now I enrolled for intro to prof nursing and abnormal psych.

I'll definitely post whatever I find out on here! I also enrolled in those courses seeing as how they had more limited availability.

Thank you so much!

No problem! We're in this together for the next three years!

I called the school today; Student Affairs in particular. The woman whom I spoke with said that there is indeed a glitch in the schedule system. She said not to be anxious due to the fact that it is fairly early for us to be scheduling anyhow. The issue will most likely remain unresolved until Monday at the least since Ms. Gravolet is out of town and unaware of the issue.

Nice to be your acquaintance for the next three years! And thank you again for the information! It's a relief.

Definitely glad I came across this! I was freaking out, worrying that I wouldn't get all the classes needed. Can't wait until orientation in December!

If you go to lsu's homepage, go to current student, preregistration, then student registration instructions, it tells you how to schedule classes! I really do dislike how they have everything set up. I feel like it is so unorganized with no clear due dates or instructions on things; everything is in a different spot.

Unless there has been a change to how they are handling new student registration (I am a current Soph II), you do not need to register online as they will manually register you during new student orientation next month. You will get all of the info then. Also since every course is a required course (no electives, etc.) and there is only one section of each class, it is literally impossible for classes to fill up as you may have experienced at other schools, so don't worry about that. I will try to check this thread again if anyone has any other questions. Congrats everyone on getting in - rest up for the next 6 weeks because you are going to be working hard and learning a lot!

Thank you for the information!

Hi, everyone. I'm about to apply for BSN program in LSU for Fall 2015. I still have some classes that I need to take. I have 1 question about the prerequisite course for Microbiology. I am a current student of Delgado Community College. I already took Human Pathogen BIO211 in Delgado. Can this course be accepted to transfer to LSU? Or do I need to take General Microbiology BIO 210. I tried to find this information online but I found nothing. Please help me out! Thank you.
