LSU BSN Spring 2015

Published

Hi all!

I've recently changed my major to pre-nursing, and am applying for the Spring 2015 semester this August! I've got tons of questions, and also have gathered a lot of research about the program from past forums and current students. This thread, I'm sure, will be helpful in both easing our nerves and providing insight about the upcoming application process! It seems to be different for every semester. I get attacked by my anxiety every time I question if my GPA will suffice! Has anyone started the application process yet (i.e., personal statement, HESI, etc.?)

There were no physics questions on the test. I used the study guide and made an 85% which is pretty good considering I've been out of school for 6 years.

Does anyone know if we can send our transcripts electronically? I have been waiting on mine for two weeks and they still haven't arrived and I have to send the application tomorrow!

Hi everyone! I brought in my application today for Spring 2015. I'm pretty nervous about getting wait listed because of my GPA and Hesi score. I have a 3.0 on my prereqs and I made a 77 on the Hesi. How did you all do? Or Is anyone applying with a similar GPA or score?

I almost positive it has to be official sealed transcripts...

I too have a 3.0 on my pre-req's. I received a 87% on my HESI though. I'm hoping my military background as a corpsman and my statement letter will push me through. If i get wait listed or denied, I'll just try, try again. Good luck mate.

3.78 pre-req GPA and 92.86% HESI + 910 CT

This is my second time applying to LSU BSN. I have a 3.3 GPA and an 80 on HESI this time around ! So hopefully I can get in. If anyone has questions about the process I am willing to answer questions

I actually have a question! From you past experience do you recall how long it took to get a call for an interview if eligible? I'm paranoid to miss it if I do get a call because of work and such!

I have a 4.0 GPA & and an 87% on the HESI! I wouldn't focus too much on the HESI score as much as the other components. From what I hear, people with a wide range of HESI scores have been accepted because it isn't weighted as highly. As long as you put forth effort in your personal statements as well as future interviews, with a little faith added anything is possible!

I'm really nervous too! I have a 3.4 GPA and I got an 80 on the HESI..

I actually received my transcripts the DAY before the application was due so I drove up there to turn it in.

all was good (:

Does anyone who is applying have to work once accepted into nursing school? Many people have said it is nearly impossible, but I have to work. I was just wondering if anyone was in this same boat or have found a way around it!

I will have to work enough to pay for daycare (what a catch 22 that is).
