Any nurses LPN/RN work with LPN's, if so type of facility and pay scale if you know.

California is very LVN friendly, a lot of job opportunity and good pay most of state except San Diego.

Thank you!

Where are you looking to move?

I'm curious about this myself. I'm in Louisiana presently and at an hourly of $18.50. Curious to see if it's more, we're relocating to phoenix this summer.

I just passed my LPN boards last week!!! Were planning on moving to Az after my daughter gets done w/ the school year. (end of may) Is there any hospitals that are more LPN friendly then others? I plan on working and going back for my RN also.

Im no expert in this area but, I was also interested so I did some research and talked to some people. There are places that start as low as $13 an hour, that is on the low, low side. I believe in some hospitals the pay is around $15-$16hr. Then, I do know some gals making $18-$22 working in home care through an agency. I also know an LPN (who has been one for 15 yrs)that makes $40 an hour. So it is best to say it all depends on where you work. I'd call some of the hospitals to find out if they use LPN's and then ask what the typical starting pay is with and without experience...

I don't think many hospitals employ LPNs in the Phoenix area. There is a lot of work in nursing homes though. I think new grad LPN pay is around 18 an hour; I don't know what experienced LPNs make.

Thanks for the help!

I'm working pool at an acute care facility and make $27/hr. The patients are very heavy and sick in this setting though so it's not easy nursing, which is why I think the pay is higher.

The hospitals around here pay LPNs much less than the ltc facilities.

Thanks! It is good but where else are you going to have LPNs caring for these type of heavy vent and wound patients, kwim? Infectious disease is rampant, staffing sucks half the time...so sometimes the money doesn't even seem worth it! But I'm too far along in school and pregnancy right now to be looking for another job. Plus I just work one day/week.
