I would go and get my RN if you feel that strongly about being in labor and delivery.
Unless you can find a hospital that utilizes LPNs as techs. But if I was an LPN myself, I would not want that role. I'd feel like I was wasting my role as a nurse.
Is there something holding you back from obtaining your RN?
I don't know of any hospital that would allow an LPN in L&D. It goes against all professional guidelines and most facilities' Liability Insurance.
You *might* be able to find a job in mom/baby/postpartum, although the only LPNs that I know of that currently work in that area have worked there forever and were grandfathered in.

I am feeling so lost. The past year I've been a stay at home mom. Before I was a stay at home mom I was working in long term care. It absolutely ruined my nursing passion and I will never return. I am very very passionate about women's health. I know as a lpn it is near impossible to find a position in labor and delivery. Are any of you LPNs that have a job working a labor and delivery? Do you work under a different title? I just really don't think I can be passionate about anything else. I am also a doula but I am unfortunately not finding work here in Orlando it is over saturated. Please send advice this way. Thank you !
