I am going to school to become a practical nurse in a few months. Its a 10 month course. Any tips from anyone ? Also whats it like to be a lpn is it easy to pick up on or not so much?

To help answer the OP's question:
LPN school is not overly difficult more than it is tedious. You are learning very foreign material if this is your first venture in the medical field. Immerse yourself as much as possible, relax and try to absorb it in your own timing.
One day it will just sort of *click* and then you'll feel like you're in "The Matrix" with no way out. You'll be forever changed in the way you think and view your surroundings. Fun transformation but it isn't for everyone.
Good luck to you!

Its not impossible however your must be very self motivated, adaptable, coachable and wise enough to learn from your mistakes.

I wouldn't go to an "accelerated" program. Some of what you'll get from the instructors is so off its not even funny. I wish I had never applied to LPN out of desperation. Just choose RN- its for smart people.
Well first off, I find your comment unnecessary and second I don't think choosing LPN over RN has anything to do with a lack of intelligence. For most people it's a choice based on their financial situation. I'm sorry you're unhappy with the choice you made but you don't have to bring others down. OP, I'm in LPN school right now and I think it's tough based on the fact that we have so much being thrown at us all at once. I wish you luck in your journey as a nurse.

I very much enjoy my "accelerated" program!! I have learned so much over the past 6 months, and still have 6 more to go. I have very intelligent instuctors who have been rn's for a long time... ItIS very hands on so therefore we learn so much better than sitting and reading it out of a book for hours. So maybe it isnt for everyone but it definatly isnt useless, its a good start to an amazing career!!! 😉

I just started my LPN program almost three weeks ago. In those three weeks I've had four test. This week I will have another four test. I go to a technical college so right now we are doing anatomy and physiology. Is it hard yes, is it doable yes! My overall percentage right now is an 86 and I work full time nights with two children. It's a lot of work but if you want it, then fight for it!

I feel the scheduling of the program makes it a challenge. My fiancé is in the program it's 8 hour's 5 days a week. Where my friend is in an associate program four days a week. 3 days of class 8 to 4. Clinical twice a week 8 hour's. Clinical can be scheduled to work around your schedule. So does clinical on Saturday and Thursdays. WorksThursday, Friday and Sunday.
However, as I said basically with my fiancé school the weekend is your only time to work your overloaded with homework. So she struggles trying to balance work and school. In my fiancé LPN program they make them do projects 24/7 2 a week usually with 2 to 4 test a week.

I have 3 months left of my LVN program. I wouldn't say it's "hard." But it is VERY demanding. A lot of information is thrown at you in a year. But the skills you will learn are next to none!!!!! It has been the best decision I have ever made. I have a BS in psychology and worked in the field for about 4 years. But my heart kept being tugged toward nursing!!!!
