Well it is nursing school so it's not easy. How hard is very subjective.

Each school is different in how there programs are arranged, but all are difficult. What makes it hard is the large amount of information you have to learn both clinically (skill wise) and book wise in a limited amount of time. Additionally, you put your life on hold to learn it all and not all instructors are easy to work with due to their different expectations so be adaptable as possible. My best advice is study hard and practice your skills on a regular basis.

Yes, nursing school is hard. I am 1/2 way through the LPN program right now (graduating July 1st). Just study a lot. They will be sacrifices, but it'll be worth it all in the end. Keep telling yourself that you will not give up, because they'll be times you want to. Good luck to you! You'll be just fine :)

Hi I actually just started school a month ago and it has been great so far the best advice i can give you is to stay ahead of your work bc if you don't it'll get to be to much in all of my classes I'm three home chapters ahead which gives me more tome to study there's a lot of reading. I have A's and B's. Also having good time management is key to nursing school if you don't have it you won't make it one of my classmates has already left . It's fast paced not anyone can handle it good luck!!

So one thing I did was I made vision board of my goals it basically says keep going and it has where I'm at and where I want to go with my career it's a motivational thing.

op and ALWAYS BE ON TIME AND GO TO SCHOOL I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH!! YOU MAY THING WHY WOULD SOMEONE EVEN HAVE TO SAY THAT WELL BC IT'S A HUGH PROBLEM IN MY CLASS RIGHT NOW.

I wouldn't go to an "accelerated" program. Some of what you'll get from the instructors is so off its not even funny. I wish I had never applied to LPN out of desperation. Just choose RN- its for smart people.

Wow

This post is extremely biased and just plain rude.

Most of the available LPN programs are accelerated. It's not for everyone.

It's time consuming and often very stressful....working as a nurse is as well. I was in school 12 months.. Shaving off 2 months wouldn't have made much difference.

Sorry you had such a terrible experience. What was so "off" in your opinion?

My instructors were brilliant.

Most of the time you see comments such as this when a student just couldn't make the cut 🤔

So, Did you finish your program?

Just choose RN- its for smart people.

I know plenty of LPNs who are smarter than the RNs, especially when it comes to patient care. I even had to teach an RN how to transfer a resident from the bed to the wheelchair because she didn't know what she was doing.

Initials behind your name doesn't measure the level of intelligence a person has. There are smart LPNs and there are smart RNs.

I think any step forward is not a waste of time. There's nothing wrong about bettering yourself--whether LPN, ASN, ADN, BSN, MSN, etc.

Wow - really? Our LPN program runs circles around the RN program. I wouldn't change a thing. I'm graduating in May and I would encourage anyone to do LPN to RN. Just my two cents.

Actually, most RN schools are designed for individuals that are not currently in the work force being that they are mostly offered as daytime programs. With that said- the majority of students in accelerated LPN programs are juggling working full-time with classes in the evening and that takes a special type of ambition and level of emotional intelligence to conquer.

Saying "it's for smart people" is one of the most ignorant things I've ever heard. Best of luck pulling your head out of your ***.
