LPN to RN....how long?

Published

I am currently going to school for my CNA, will be going to school again this fall for my LPN and after that, will want to get my RN....I know there are many programs available for LPN to RN...Im just wondering how long that takes. Is it a two year program? Any info would be great! Thanks!

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

I have been an LVN for a little over 3 years, and am currently enrolled in a 14-month associate degree RN bridge program. Most LPN-to-ADN bridge programs are about 1 year in length, and the majority of LPN-to-BSN programs are about 2 years long.

Specializes in MS, LTC, Post Op.

I just started today and I will (hopefully) graduate in 11 months and 1 wk...yes...I have a ticker on another board ;)

Specializes in ER, ICU, Medsurg.

I'm in an LPN to RN bridge as well, LPN is one year (2 semesters) and RN is 2 semesters. will graduate with ADN next spring God Willing!

LPN TO RN/BSN: I know that everybody keeps saying that it depends on the school we chose to do the RN after our LPN. But can you volunteer, using your school's program, list all the courses you will have to COMPLETE to become RN? (whether prerequisites or not)

I f we do this from our individual shools,it will give a background information to anyone looking for this answer. A pattern will emerge at least for us to know that some specific courses are common. Thank you

This is copied from my school's website. I'm not sure how long the RN program takes, I'm thinking it's about 2 years. The LPN program is just under 2 years.

Are these online classes and if so which college?

Are these online classes and if so which college?

Most of the general ed's can be taken online, but it isn't all online. It's at MN State College Southeast Technical, in Winona and Red Wing.
