Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody else has applied to Georgia Highland's LPN-RN program that starts in June? I just turned in my application yesterday. I was hoping we could encourage each other and wait for good news together!

Specializes in Med/Surg, LTACH, LTC, Home Health.

Is that anywhere near Floyd Medical Center? I did some agency work at Floyd a few years back. Absolutely beautiful hospital to do clinicals in and the track out back is perfect for walking off the stress immediately after!!! I really miss that area.

Specializes in hospice, HH, LTC, ER,OR.

Good Luck to you I am on my last 2 months from online hybrid program from GHC :)!

Thanks for the well wishes! Does that mean you are getting ready to graduate in May? Are you enjoying the program there? It's the only one I applied to :)

Lynda,

I believe it is. I had a friend that worked at Floyd, and she said it was close to GHC's campus. I have never been to the campus in Rome, and I am hoping to go to the Marietta campus.

prettymica,

How much of the bridge is an online program?

They have two different bridge programs. The one in Marietta is in class. The one in Rome, 15 of us are online and the rest are in class. It was for the first semester only. After that you have class on Mondays but you still have online content to study on your own. This was the only program that I had applied to, I heard that this was the best program but I am having mixed reviews. Honestly I am just happy to get it over with and graduate in May. I hope you get in at Marietta, I live in Atlanta and I commute all the way to Rome and I stay in a hotel when I have clinicals. Hugs and Good luck :)!

So, do you only have class on Mondays for the whole program? How many days/week are clinicals? I too live in Atlanta, so I am hoping not to have to drive to Rome! I heard that for the Marietta campus, they take students that are employees for Wellstar first. Did you write on your app that that was your first preference? Congrats on your impending graduation, I know you must be very excited! Thanks so much for your help :)

I have applied to the bridge program for 2013 as well. Do you know when we can expect letters to go out?

Hey,

I was told by the program assistant that it will be around a month from March 1st, maybe a little longer. She said the paramedic bridge program starts a month earlier, but they send out the letters to both groups at the same time. I am just going to guess that it will end up being somewhere around mid-April :)

No I did not request marietta because I didnt want to wait. Also I am not a wellstar employee nor did I apply for the wellstar scholarship. Clinicals are weird most 3-4 days depends on the teacher. Some teachers only do 8-10 hours and some do 12 hours. Some rotations are tue-thur, weekends only, or something like tue, thur, tue again. They will really work with you to place you according to your needs. Thank you and GOOD LUCK :)!

Did any of yalls major change from saying pre-nursing to lpn mobility? Also mine changed under program from just ASN to LPN Mobility and campus changed to Floyd. Just wondering if that is just because we've applied or what. You go into score then select the Summer 13 term then its under View Student Information. Let me know!
