lpn prerequisites!

Published

Hello eveyone! This is my first time here at allnurses.com and i love it a lot of things to read, learn ect.

I have a Q. i am a CNA now at a Behavior Hospital i love my job!!! :)

but i want to become something higher i thought going into Rn 2yr program but i have not finished my prerequisites plus the waiting lists are just horrible, so it will take me 4 yrs so i thought ok well ill just fo for BSM i am very undicieded now. i really want to go to a private school for my LPN -LVN what are the prerequisites for the lpn program can anybody tell me..plzzzzz thx

i live in new jersey

When I went to college in San Antonio for my LVN/LPN we were not given credits for the courses we took.

I graduated with a 3.72 gpa

Now wanting to further my career, wanting to find an LPN to RN bridge, transition, fast track is frustrating.

When you send all these folks your transcripts, which is a lot of effort to begin with to contact college and get them to send to colleges etc, unopened envelopes etc.

Then to be told you have to complete certain pre-requisites before your accepted.

It's ridiculous. I've been a nurse for 20 years. I have trained RN's in dialysis.

Anyone know of an online course for the lpn to rn with the exception of excelsior, without having to take english, literature, history, anatomy etc..?

Or if you can just test out of those courses?

See if the colleges around you would accept CLEP test out for some of them. Otherwise the only other lpn-rn online i know of is Chamberlain the link is

LPN to RN On-Site & online programs | Chamberlain College of Nursing

I don't see in the description if the require pre-reqs or not, the curriculum includes a&p and math according to the pdf. I have heard that this college is expensive though so I would first check on CLEP with your local colleges first. I hope this helps :heartbeat
