It depends on the school. Some intergrate all of the classes while taking fundamentals of nursing simultaneously, others demand that certain pre-requisites are taken before entering into their nursing program. Call and request an outline of requirements or check out their websites. I was in an LPN-RN bridge program, so we had to take college level anatomy and physiology, english 101, psychology 101 and medical dosages. This was done to make the transition into an RN program easier because the pre-requisites were already taken. They took people with the highest GPA. Good luck to you!

I attended a trade school LVN program, which had no prerequisites.

I attended a trade school and we had no prerequisites. We just had to pass a general test that was fairly simple. We also had to go through an interview process and that was more intense because spots were limited.. Good Luck :)

I agree that it depends on the school. Mine required everything the RN program wanted except Statistics which was good for when I started apply to LPN to RN bridge programs. Good luck.

Thx you all...i am actually having a meeting at this one place AmeriCare in Schaumburg IL, i have a friend that goes there. On there site says only high diploma and some other things bu no pre-req. so i will see. Thank You

Cocolino, did you end up going to Americare in Schaumburg, if so do you like it? Are you able to get into an RN program or BSN afterwards with your credits? I am looking into this school as well, so any feedbacks as to how you like the program and how it is going for you would be awesome. Thanks:smilecoffeecup:

so gurls any new news about the school?? are you guys going there?? i am interested in that school too but not sure about it. Any students that are currently going there??

thanks

I am going there. I have a meeting with Michelle on Monday to give my app in and $1000 dollars.() Anyways I was skeptical about this program too because it was not of a place I have heard about. My sister introduced me because her neighbor is actually almost done with the class. She said it was a good program but it is hard (as any nursing school is) and you have to be on top of your game. If you are wanting to transfer your courses to another school you should talk to the other school about it. My goal is to aim for RN or BSN. St. Xavier's has an LPN-BSN program and when I asked if they would accept the credits from here, they said they would. Just to let you know. =)

I am going take the A&P courses at Americare in the summer and then officially start the program in Fall.

This may not have been exactly what you were wanting to hear but it is what I know. Hope I helped somewhat. Best of luck.

thanks

good im plaining to go there for fall too. i did my ap at wright :] so people like the program??

Thats the word. I took my AP too at Loyola but I am auditing the course in the summer just to review and tattoo the info into my brain.
