Having been exposed to, and contracted, shingles at work, you DO need to tell them. Thankfully I am not PG but it's been a total misery. My varicella innoculation is current and I got it anyway. My right leg became infected, there were secondary issues...UGH. I am finally returning to work tomorrow. YOu DO NOT want shingles.
If you've got good CS skills you might like phone triage. Try fonemed. Also, there are several services in our area that provide insurance screening, and they are always looking for per diem. hth.
Thank goodness you're all saying it takes a while! I just started at a LTCF after working in a hospital for a year. Things are VERY different! One of the aides was very kind after the shift, saying I'd get faster as time went on...but I still felt I was reeeeeaaaaaalllllyyy slow compared to the other people on the floor.
Hey there! The waiting list must have changed. I applied in July for the 12 month LPN day track that starts in September, and I did get in. I know they still have slots in the late fall track at Diamond Oaks as well. Don't let the rumors get to you...just go in and talk to the advisor if you're really interested. They can help you get done what you need to do to get in!
