I was just wondering if only RN's had pinning ceremonys or if your LPN/LVN program had a pinning ceremony
Our school has a Pinning ceremony in December and your family is allowed to come, it's really nice. We all had to wear white, no hats though. They give out awards first, some of the students did speeches, then as we're getting pinned another instructor reads who we dedicate our pins to. We recite our Nursing pledge and that's it. There's a seperate graduation at the school the next week.
What about the LPN programs in Tennessee. Do any of their schools have pinning ceremony????? Just curious.
I would have LOVED to have a pinning ceremony. We were told if we wanted one we could go to the student union bookstore and buy one. Mine was stolen about 3 years later. Of course you should have one. If the school won't do it, then you may need to organize it yourselves. Perhaps a church or a lodge would lend you the use of their facility, some punch and some cookies, and of course candles! You could make small corsages/boutonnière of a silk carnation or rose, and attach the pin and a small note or poem. For those who can't afford a pin, they could have the corsage/boutonnière pinned.
There are places on the internet you can get a "generic pin" for about $4.
