LPN orientation

Published

My LPN orientation is on aug 20, it's from 9 am to 5pm I just wonder what's going to happen any else had their orientation...if so what happen...what was discussed....?????

Our orientation was Friday and it was from 8:30-1:30ish. We went over the usual stuff (handbook, schedules, labs, uniforms for lab/clinicals, etc...). There were some LPN grad students there that are now BSN students. So they talked to us and answered questions so that was cool. We complete our drug screen and background checks in our third week of class. Some of us signed up for the SNA at our campus and bought lab coats, patches, etc... from the pop up bookstore.

What is SNA

Specializes in Pediatrics, Emergency, Trauma.
What is SNA

Student Nurses Association.

My orientation is next week. It is 2 days, 8:30-5 each day, with a 1 hour break for lunch. I figure there is going to be some down time in there, but I do know that one of the things they do is stand up there and read the ENTIRE handbook to the students, so that later no student can say, "I never heard about that." They give an orientation session about various technology, and the library, as well. According to the schedule they sent out, there is a small section of time dedicated to paperwork, but all 40 of us were required to do the background check and drug test thing over the summer, so we won't have that to do.

Specializes in N/a.

My orientation is tomorrow from 9 until whenever I guess. They didn't put an ending time. Lol. But I'll try and keep everyone posted on what happens. Maybe we'll have some similarities and figure this out.

Mine is 2 days in September from 8-5ish both days! My program is also really long though compared to most people I have seen on here... it's Monday-Friday 8-5 for 12 months...

So we had our orientation....so basically it went over the handbook briefly...attendance...clinically...uniforms...policy...that was like 2 and half hours...they also when over testing skills....nclex...then we went to the book store purchase uniforms...nurses patches...lab jackets... ID badge holders and clips...stethoscope and we received our lab kits....it was pretty cool....I'm excited...

Specializes in Postpartum, Mother/Baby, Comm. Health, Geriatric.

They didn't tell us to get a lab kit at the Warren campus. :nailbiting: Maybe I should order one off the website.

No they gave it to us...I was in our tuition already for the program
