admin note from brian: since this magazine is being discussed, i wanted to let you all know that you can buy this magazine from the allnurses.com book store in association with amazon.com (allnurses.com does get a small amount of proceeds)
you can find the page here:

but haven't had time to read it as of yet. i suspect there aren't a whole lot of ads for lpn jobs as the magazine is a paid subscription unlike the free magazines like advance for lpns & nursing spectrum, etc.
let's do discuss your opinions a bit more so that they can be forwarded to the editors of the magazine. this is just the beginning of the series & i'm sure they'll require feed-back to tweak the magazine accordingly.
someone mentioned that the questions at the end of the articles seemed too easy. well, what kind of questions would you want to see?
how about topics? someone else committed on there not being enough articles for a bi-monthly magazine. i've not read the magazine yet, but it seems to be just a thick as their nursing2005 magazine.
for those who are disappointed in what you've read/seen so far, i suggest writing an editorial letter voicing your opinions & possible solutions. perhaps offer to write an article on a topic yourself (a bit much...but don't discount your abilities).
there's something that's been bugging me for a long time now which is more along the political lines that i'll be forwarding to them & that's how lpns are viewed/valued in the healthcare industry. we seem to be invaluable to home-health, ltcs, agencies; but seem to be devalued, discounted, & almost shunned by major hospitals, other interdiscipline professionals, & overall nursing academia (rn program professors) as evidence by many referring us (or lumping us) with uaps. this *is* being taught today in many rn programs...particularly in the leadership courses where priority & delegation are heavily discussed.
is this because we lpns have no political power? how did we allow this to happen? what can we do to wake-up & start taking an active roll in our careers? one can certainly start by writing editorial letters to voice opinions that others may share & will be willing to act upon.
looking forward to any responses ~ cheers !

I subscribe to it.Its okay, just alot of information about procedures and such. I havent seen any issues that talked about travel nursing. But I think its a good investment for an lpn. You get 12 issues for 20 dollars.
