This topic has been around before, but I was looking for something more up to date. Things have fluctuated in past two years or so. I know people are always looking for salaries and most of the time its for RN's. I'll start ;-)
Around the Cincinnati area here I'm not sure about the starting pay or pay in hospitals for LPN's. But I know LTC facilities are about 16 to start ranging up to about 22. I've seen ad's in the paper saying $24 but I don't know what that was for. Agencys are about 21-25 dollars for LPN's also. I believe Jobs are plentiful around here! Also when I was up in columbus, I heard an instructor saying they are starting their LPN's out with $27-30 while the RN's get about $40-50 ..I don't really believe that, but I just tossed that out there maybe for some clarification?
Work in Massachusetts...make $25/hr w/full benefits part time at Assisted Living....just graduated and just got this job.....so far so good!
I wish i could afford to move now, i definitely would.....Unfortunately, like millions of other people i am one of those that is stuck in a house we bought just before the market crashed....our house is now worth less than what we paid for it, and so it wouldnt be beneficial to sell....Cant rent either, caz noone would rent it for what we are paying for the mortgage. So, for now i guess i am stuck in Florida. That opportunity sure does sound good. Thx
I was hired at small LTC facility and it was $22p/h after orientation plus differentials for evening and weekend shifts, and charge nurse position. I have friends who were hired at facilities that start you at $26p/h plus the differentials. Doctors offices tend to pay around $18p/h.
Is this in the Tampa Bay Area in Florida?
I was a south florida lpn for 9 years and was 13 an hour at my very first job, the following year i was making $20 an hour somewhere else. over the years I made an average of $18/hr with more when I went agency. (up to $25/hr), I now live in TN, and have yet to apply for my license here because the top out rate for lpn's here is $15/hr.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whoever heard of such a thing????? what an insult!!! I have a friend that lives in NYC and he has been an lpn for 12years. he gets $33/hr.!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so ridiculous!!!

I know a LPN who graduated 2 years ago who works in a psychiatric facility in Nashville, TN that makes $17/hour, but that's the highest I'v heard of so far.
I work in southeast TX at a CV & Stroke ICU/PCU unit and make 15.95 an hour. I pick up at least two extra shifts a pay period with incentive pays of $100.00 on weekdays and $200.00 on weekends. With differentials and overtime my average take home check every two weeks is about $1,800.00. I don't quabble about my paychecks at all.
