LPN/LVN rate of pay in your area.

This topic has been around before, but I was looking for something more up to date. Things have fluctuated in past two years or so. I know people are always looking for salaries and most of the time its for RN's. I'll start ;-)

Around the Cincinnati area here I'm not sure about the starting pay or pay in hospitals for LPN's. But I know LTC facilities are about 16 to start ranging up to about 22. I've seen ad's in the paper saying $24 but I don't know what that was for. Agencys are about 21-25 dollars for LPN's also. I believe Jobs are plentiful around here! Also when I was up in columbus, I heard an instructor saying they are starting their LPN's out with $27-30 while the RN's get about $40-50 ..I don't really believe that, but I just tossed that out there maybe for some clarification?

I have been asked to interview for a clinic job at the university hospital here. according to their website, the LVN pay ranges from about 21-35 bucks per hour. starting. Mind you, this is SF. The have a rather impressive bennie package as well.

Wow I sure hope you are wrong. $9 an hour is an insult!!!!!!:angryfire You can make more than that working at Walmart......I know a few grads and they started off around $13-$14 an hour!

Well, I work in a LTC Center in Southern MS and as a new grad, I started out at 16.25 with 2.00 diff. Also hearing about a 2 dollar increase coming soon.

Thanks! I thought most were paid more! There is no way i would take $9 an hour:) I also heard all new grads min income are going up a couple of dollars.:monkeydance:

Hospitals dont hire lpns much anymore. LTC's 16 - 20 range, dr office 14-16, agencies 18-22.

I currently make 20 w/ pd benefits.

hello every one well i will say that the pay in chicago is $20-$23 depending on which LTC facility you go to and the southern suburbs pay $19-$22 from what i have heard and i am not sure about agency.

Wow it is amazing the different rates of pay.. I work here in East Tennessee about 20 minutes north of knoxville, TN and I make $17 an hour I have been there for exactly 1 year and 6 months.. My wife is also an LPN there and she makes $18.88 an hour and she has been there 4 years and 2 months. That does include our $.50 night shift diff too.

I live in Bay Area (san Jose, CA) Ive asked & learned that you don't get less than $25/hr as an entry level LVN. Most of the LVN's i know get $27 up/hr (homehealth, hospice & SNF).

cheers!

wow... I am looking for a agency just so I can go part time at my job nursing home...u know kids plus... I am just tired.. but I have full benefits 1199 plus paid $23 hr .. plus night diff.. is fine.. wow... but I am in NYC... I guess I should be happy:idea:

i saw an agency giving $33 here in the bay area... and i know a school that pays $35 when ur going to teach..

I cant believe the wages are so low. I have been an LPN since 1985. The last time i made under $20 per hour was about 8 years ago. So sorry I know where i won't relocate to.
