How long do you go to clinicals?

I have been rather surprised that the time spent in clinicals at my local LPN school is only 6 weeks toward the end of the 15 month program. Is this about right? I thought there would be much more hands on patient care.

Wow, that seems crazy! My program is 18 months (15 months if you don't count holiday breaks/summer vacation) and we start clinicals on week 4 (September 19)!

Our program is 11.5 months and we start clinicals on week 3. Is it 6 weeks of straight clinicals or is it a couple of days out of the week?

I believe it is for 6 weeks straight. Maybe I misunderstood. I am going to call tomorrow and make sure. I know when I went to Xray school we were in clinicals for almost the entire 2 years. I am hoping it's more as I find that is where we get our best experiences from.

My program is a year long (3 semesters) The first semester we have clinical's for 6 weeks, I'm not sure about the other two semesters.

Just curious -- how do you fit 3 semesters into one year?

Summer, Fall, Spring? When you put two 8 week summer sessions together, it's actually just as long as a regular semester!

Just my guess :)

Maybe 4 months each semester?

September - December; January - April; May - August. There you have it. Summer IS a semester.

Hi there! My program runs from Sept to June and we start clinicals during the 7th week. From that point on, we have them at least twice per week and in March, we have them three times per week until graduation.:-)

Can't remember the rest of my clinicals, sadly... It really depends on how long your clinicals are (hour wise) and what days of the week you go.

For us, we did ours with Tuesdays and Wednesdays for 2 weeks in each clinical until towards the end and then it went to Tues/Wed/Thurs for 2 weeks until clinicals were done

ETA: We started our clinicals in January and they finished in July

That sounds crazy! I start class tomorrow. In week 5 we go to clinicals. My college has it for 4 consecutive semisters. Graduation date? One year from now :D
