I am plannnig on relocating to the Fort Worth area right after school. I was wondering if it would be better to get my license in Texas or Colorado & have it endorsed in Texas? I would like to be working pretty soon after school and was wondering what way would be the quickest?

Is it ture that Texas has the "quick results option" does that mean that you are able to work faster or do you still have to wait for the license to arrive?

It's me again! :)

I moved to Texas upon completing an LVN program in California, took my NCLEX for California while in Texas, and endorsed the California LVN license into Texas. I would not have been able to apply for initial licensure in Texas because one of the requirements is that I have 'three references'. Sorry, but I don't have three references because I am not much of a people person.

I am alot like you;) I am a friendly person but I will say I really dont have alot of people I would trust to give me a reference! Unless I can count Chad, but I have a feeling they dont also your hubby to give references. I havent really "connected" with many people since I moved to Colorado. Do you know if the references can be like from teachers at school?

How long did it take you to do the whole process if you dont mind me asking?

I received my California license number on January 20. I then proceeded to mail my endorsement package to the Texas B.O.N.E. I received a temporary Texas license on February 2 and worked using that until my permanent Texas license arrived in early March.

So it doesnt take to long at all! Do most places let you work with a temp one? Can you start looking for a job before you get the temp in the mail?

Sorry so many questions. I imagin they sound silly:p

Colorado is a "compact" state, so if you're licensed in CO or any of the compact states you are able to practice in all- so far there are 21 & TX is one, you would have to call the BON to find out how this works.
