Published

hello everyone,

i'm a new nurse and i'm going to start looking for a job, but as a new nurse, i need help on my resume...does anyone have any good websites i can take a look at for sample lvn resumes? and what places hire new grad. nurses? because i feel like some places want at least 1 year experience!

Congratulations on becoming a new nurse! I just passed NCLEX-PN a few weeks ago and know exactly how you feel about trying to get a job. I applied for 20 jobs so far and only had 2 interviews. But at least I got a job.

For my resume, I just used one of the templates in Microsoft Word. One thing I added was volunteer experience. I have been a stay at home mom for most of my adult life so I have very little work history.

This is similar to the format I use. I hope you are able to find the job you want (and get an interview!).

Congrats to you! I can't wait to come & post the same! LOL You can always try to seek out LTC facilities. They don't necessarily require 1 year like specialist areas do. Most have the better pay as far as between hospitals (which usually take your LPN title and call you a tech) and Dr's offices (good hours if you need that, but usu no benefits and lower that hospital pay). Home care & per diem usu pay pretty well. If you get additional certifications, that may help too. Good luck to you!!
