My first nursing job (I hope)

hello everyone! how you guys doing???

no job yet. i have only been licensed since last week and i have not actually received my paper license in the mail yet. but i went for my second interview for the same job yesterday. it is a sub-acute rehab facility and it is owned by my county so the benefits are excellent and it is unionized. i don't really know what it means to be in the union. anyone care to explain? thanks in advance. but i really like the benefits! can you believe that if i work during holidays i would get paid triple??

i am really hoping i get the job. the hr people told me that i got the job but it is not "official" yet because they are doing my background checks and everything and the people above the hr need to sign as well like the freeholders since the facility is county owned. it would take 3-4 weeks so i am very scared that they might change their mind about hiring me. but they really like me so i think i got the job. i don't know. i feel the same way as when i was waiting for my nclex result. i really really hope i get this job. please pray for me!! :saint:

p.s. i was told the maximum patient load is 25 per nurse. is that a good ratio my fellow nurses? thanks.

thanks so very much i should get in this fall 2008 because the lady i spoke to in the health sciences department said they are anticipating accepting 45 students this fall 2008 & i am #44!!!! they will mail out accpetance letters in may!!!! i cannot wait!!!! if i get in could i ask you questions about the classes i take? if you don't mind i would be very greatful because i will probably not know anyone there.

thanks so much you are a lifesaver!!!! i will find out in may & i will let you know if i get in i should get in. i would start nursing school in august!!!!
