not at my hospital. i have never heard that before. i float to CC and we don't have any LPN's working there. i just thought maybe because of the pushes and the drips that we have to hang. i was a LPN for 21 years, i would be interested to know.
take care

i have never seen anything like that cause most lvn's don't work in critical care. however, you could become certified in geri, pharm or hospice.

I have never heard of an LPN who was certified in critical care. While there is a very small minority of LPNs who hold positions in a few sporifice ICUs around the country, the blatant truth is that our education does not prepare us for critical care. In other words, 'you don't know what you don't know'.
Of course, an LPN can become an excellent critical care nurse with OJT training. However, don't expect to land a job on any critical care unit upon graduation from school, because RNs are typically preferred for these areas.
