Lower Columbia LPN-RN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Good evening!

Just starting a thread for applicants for the Lower Columbia College LPN-RN program starting in Fall 2018. Everyone should be almost done with testing. I've done the TEAS and am taking the Kaplan on July 30. I got a 81% on the TEAS which I hope will be competitive. Any other prospective students for Fall out there??

Does anyone know how they use the scores to rank? Do they take an average of both scores? I'm nervous too! Good luck to all!

When should you all know whether you made it into the program or not? My application says selection will be done by August 17th for the RN traditional cohort. The wait is killing me as well! I just wanna know already!

I have been wondering how they calculate admission points as well. Based on the info given by previous cohorts, it looks like letters are mailed out sometime around August 9-15. The waiting is very painful.

I noticed some threads call the Kaplan test the 'Critical thinking' test. I know Kaplan has one test that is specifically a critical thinking test and another that is a med/surg test. Is the transitions test one of these or different? I'm thrown by the references to the critical thinking test.

I could be misinterpreting this but I feel like the 'critical thinking' exam is the one for traditional RN. That's just what I've perceived from reading all the threads. Good luck on your test today!!!

LCC Traditional RN cohort no longer does the critical thinking test. This is the first year they are no longer doing it. They replaced it with possible additional admission points for healthcare experience.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to update you - I took the Kaplan transitions test and got a 84%! I am so relieved- I was so nervous! Now just the waiting period before they send out the letters. Thank you so much for the well wishes everyone!

Hello all, I am trying to get into LCC campus based nursing program. I got an 80.7 on my teas, which I am hoping is going to be enough. Does anyone know if the total applicants is 20 for all program types or 20 for each program type? As there is LPN to RN, campus based, and online.

This should definately be good enough to get accepted!

For LPN to RN I believe they take 10 for the campus based and 45 for the online program.

Someone has created a lcc lpn-rn elearning Facebook page where we can share acceptance stories.

Could you post the link please? I can't find the page anywhere.
