Lower Columbia College- LPN2RN elearning

Published

Hello!

I would like to start a thread for prospective LCC LPN2RN 2019-2020 elearning students.

I just applied earlier this week. Planning on taking my Kaplan Transitions around the beginning of July.

I've already taken my TEAS exam and scored 82%.

Keep me posted!

how long after you turned your application in did they contact you to schedule testing? I already schedule my TEAS test to a closer location. But I wanted to separate my Kaplan a couple weeks after I do my TEAS.

Hey everyone!! Glad to have found this thread. My Application has been filled out. Applying for online and campus program. I need to wait to send it in until my final prerequisite grade posts to transcripts on June 25th, 2019.

I will be taking my placement tests mid July. I will admit that for the next 6 weeks I am working full time and studying full time. Anyone else here over the age of 40? I'm 45 years old and can not wait to advance my nursing degree after 9 years as an LPN.

I’m in my mid 30’s. Been an LPN for 11 years now. I took the Kaplan transitions and TEAS in 2009 and got average scores without studying at all. I really need to bump my scores up this time around. I’m scheduled to take my exams mid July. My biggest barrier will be the transitions test since I’ve been in a speciality for 10 years now...

NurseBritt1- I was contacted on 5/23 and scheduled my Kaplan exam for mid July. I turned my application in mid April.

Keri_Price- Way to go! I'm in my late 20's, I've been an LPN for 1 year.

Scarlet-LPN- I feel like we are all dreading the transitions tests. I just don't know what to expect!

Scarlet-LPN: I also took the TEAS without studying. I took it in 2017 and scored 70-75 in reading, math, and science. I scored an 87 in English. I retook it two days later to try and improve my scores for a different school. I think my nerves must have gotten the best of me because I got 80's in math and reading, but my science went down to 60 and my English when down to 50!

Out of both tests, I'm more worried about the TEAS. As for the Kaplan, Ive heard from two people, who are in the program now, that it was mostly about delegation, knowing the scope, and knowing certain information such as joint commission, ect. Hopefully that helps a little bit!

Hi Everyone! I also have applied to the LPN to RN online program. I turned my application in beginning of June and it was accepted last week. I have my TEAS and kaplan tests scheduled for the 19th. I have 2 teas books to study but I'm not sure what I should be studying for the Kaplan test. I was so worried about the TEAS test! I just talked to Bev yesterday and she said that there were about 150 applications she processed and they only take 45! I have been so worried. I really need to do well on these tests. I also have been working full time and finishing my classes, and with 4 kids I have no idea how I am going to it!

Hey all! I'm applying to LCC's LPN2RN campus program. Although I've heard there are more seats available for the eLearning program, I've also heard it's a lot harder to get into the eLearning program? For example, I know several people who didn't get accepted into the eLearning program but were offered a spot for the campus program. Anyone know if this is true?

Nursebarcena: I believe that’s true if they marked on the application that they wanted to be considered for the campus program as well ? Good luck to you!!! Have you done your Transitions and TEAS yet?

Does anyone know how the LPN to RN opt in works? I know we would join in a cohort but at what point in the curriculum? Is it 4 quarters like the online option?

HarmonyS82-

LLC on campus is fall through Spring. Online you spend an additional 10 weeks of Summer doing clinicals.

Nursebarcena-

I applied for both. I don’t known if that helps or hinders my opportunity. I’m taking TEAS and Kaplan on the 19th at 9am. Traveling from Skagit County.

Good Luck to everyone!!

Keri

NurseBritt1: Yes I’ve taken the TEAS so far and scored a 79.. definitely a little disappointed in myself because I wanted to score low 80’s and I just barely missed it. I took it back in May and wish I gave myself more time to study for it! I’m hoping I do really well on my Kaplan to make up for it though ?

That’s a great score! I got an 80 on my TEAS and have my Kaplan scheduled for a different date. I didn’t want to burn myself out by doing both tests on the same day. Hopefully it actually helps me. I hope I do well on the Kaplan to give me a better chance at getting in. Studying my butt off!

Good luck to you!
