Lower Columbia College- LPN2RN elearning

Published

Hello!

I would like to start a thread for prospective LCC LPN2RN 2019-2020 elearning students.

I just applied earlier this week. Planning on taking my Kaplan Transitions around the beginning of July.

I've already taken my TEAS exam and scored 82%.

Keep me posted!

Hi there!

I am also planning on applying there for the LPN2RN program. That is a fantastic score on the TEAS! I am planning on taking it in June. If you don't mind me asking, how did you study for it? I am currently using mometrix, TEAS mastery app, and I plan on purchasing the two practice tests on the ATI website. Thank you for any information you can share, and I will keep you posted as well!

Nurseuhlisuh,

I used Kaplan ATI Teas Prep book to study. I took the practice tests and mostly focused on the categories that I didn't do so well in. I believe I studied for an hour a day, 3 times a week for 3 months. I've heard that purchasing the practice tests are well worth it! It sounds like you have a good set up. Honestly.. The hardest part for me was the English portion!

I will be using my Saunders NCLEX-PN book to study for the Kaplan Transitions test. I have a friend who is currently enrolled in the LPN2RN program and she said the test was mostly focused around nursing delegation and laws. Basically, the first 3 chapters of any PN prep book. I plan on taking my test around July so I'm aiming at studying an hour a day 3-4 times a week.

Good luck! ? and keep me posted!

Hello!

I am planning on applying to the program as well! Just waiting on my prerequisites to be evaluated. How far out was the testing from when you applied? I’m hoping that when I apply they’ll give me an option to chose sometime in July.

I am studying with Mometrix for the ATI TEAS test :) for Kaplan what are you guys studying to prepare for it? I downloaded the mastery NCLEX app on my phone and using a Kaplan PN NCLEX prep book!

Good of luck to everyone :)

Nurseamber27: Thank you sharing that information for what to study for the Kaplan! I was struggling with that. And I will definitely keep you posted. You do the same!

NurseBritt1: Welcome! I believe you can take the TEAS test before you apply and afterwards as long as it is done by the July deadline. It is your choice from what I have read. You can even take it a different location. For the Kaplan Transitions Test, that is done at their testing site I believe.

For Kaplan, I am going to use my NCLEX PN book and my fundamentals book from the LPN program I took. Let me know how the NCLEX app is though! Good luck and keep us posted! I am planning on taking the TEAS in June.

Hi NurseBritt1 - I took the TEAS at LCC when I applied to their RN program last spring for a fall start. After you apply and you are in their system you will get an email (mine came June 1st) with a link to sign up for your test. There are a bunch of days available from the end of June through the end of July and you just pick the one you want.

I plan on applying to the LPN to RN next year and would love to hear how you guys do.

Good Luck!!

Hi pinky77! How was the Kaplan Transition Test? I’m studying all my NCLEX prep books to prepare. But I’m super nervous for it!

I just registered for my TEAS test on June 23! I thought I’d take them in a separate day from the Transition Exam so I don’t get overwhelmed

NurseBritt1 - Last spring was the 2nd time I applied to the RN program so I've only taken the TEAS but have heard the Kaplan is similar. When I didn't get into the RN program I decided to get my LPN instead and am in a program right now. I get done in November and am hoping to get enough hours to be able to apply for the bridge for a Fall 2020 start. That sounds soooo far away ?

If you don't mind me asking, where did you go to school for your LPN? And how long have you been an LPN?

Pinky: Congrats on getting into an LPN program! I went to Clover Park Technical College for my LPN. And I’ve been an LPN for about 2 1/2 years!

Fall 2020 will be here before you know it! Again congrats on your LPN program and good luck!

NurseBritt1: I went to CPTC for my LPN as well!

Guys, I'm freaking out about the Kaplan! I feel like there is so much to study for!

Hello! I also have the TEAS and Kaplan coming up. Is everyone studying the whole NCLEX book or should we just be focusing on delegation and laws? I really want to focus on the key topics! I also have the ATI prep book coming.

Np2112-

I am using my Saunder's NCLEX PN book and Essentials for Nursing Practice to study for Kaplan. I'm studying all key topics as I don't want to miss anything! When are you taking your exams?
