Low undergrad GPA and MBA 3.3

Published

Hello everyone:

I am have 2.9 undergrad BS in Business and 3.3 MBA. I taking Chemistry 1 and Biology w/lab now. I am planning on finishing most of my pre-reqs by the end of this year. What options do I have? I want to apply to so many schools however, I notice the strict gpa ideals. Any pointers. I am looking for schools in the NE or SE part of the Country.

Thanks so much!:lol2::redbeathe:heartbeat

Are you planning on a ADN or a BSN?

Hello:

I want to ABSN or direct entry MSN. I know it will be difficult.

Well... I have a low GPA with a BS in social science, so I feel your pain. I decided to take a ADN route that didn't have a GPA requirement super high. But the best thing about your situation is that many BSN Progarms take only your pre-reqs GPA! That means if you do well in Pre-Reqs and do well on your entrence exam, you could have a better chance to get in!! I have a 4.0 science pre-req grade, so focus on that and schools that focus mainly on your pre-reqs and you could have a lot of opportunities! I know FSU requires a science pre-req grade of 3.0, but on average everyone has at least a 3.5, so check out them!

Thank you so much! I will def check them out do you know of any other schools

that look at pre-reqs?

Thanks so much you have been very helpful!!

Yea, I know some Florida schools,

UNF (Jacksonville, FL) http://www.unf.edu/brooks/nursing/prelicensure.html#anchor201

They have a Minimun 2.9 Undergard GPA, and a 2.9 pre-req GPA requirement;

UWF (Pensacola, Florida)

Overall GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (for both common prerequisite courses and overall GPA

That's a couple, what state are you in?

Glad I could Help!

Thanks so much again! I will check the sites later. Today after work. I'm in south fl, however I'm flexible to move anywhere north all the way to Boston, Ma. Do you know of any schools up there.

Have you applied already?

MN State Mankato MN uses prereq gpa...

Thanks so much! I just it out but they don't have the absn anymore they might next year. O will keep checking..thank you:)

Noel & Den: UNF and UWF both only accept about 40 people a semester, and transfer students are not much of a priority. I am not trying to discourage anyone, but I attend UNF and I'm trying to get in with a 3.35...not happening. I am about 75th in line of the 40 spots. Jusssssst so you know not to waste your app. money or time.

was that 3.35 your science pre req gpa or your cum? DO they put weight on either of the GPAs?

The 3.3 was my cum GPA but my science GPA wasn't much different...I know UNF looks at both. I ended up only getting into FGCU's BSN program with my 3.3 and they only look at cumulative GPA. Make sure you do awesome on the TEAS, that's what saved me a spot in a program! ;) Good luck, & I went through this nerve wrecking process not too long ago so feel free to contact me with questions.
