ok so i am very discouraged. i am tryin to get into macon state nursing program and it is competitve. I made a 62.7 on the teas test. needless to say i always do bad on standardized testing. All the school needs is a 62 to look at u. my GPA is good 3.7. do yall think i have a chance of getting in the program?
I want to do the AS but was thinking about doing the the BSN just so that I wouldn't have to "rush" and go back right away...but I don't know I guess when the time comes I'll have to figure it out but I do know that I have to start very soon because I want to be a NP and that's not going to happen with me sitting twiddling my thumbs lol..but good luck to you I hope you get in hopefully maybe this time next year I'll be waiting on my acceptance letter from them:D
Hey!
I am also applying for Macon State for fall 2010, I applied to both ADN and BSN programs, I took my TEAS test on friday and I got a total score of 70.7%.. At first I thought it was pretty good because I focused more on the percentile ranks and the national and program averages..but now I am kind of having second thoughts as to if that is a good score or not.I'm not sure what other people got, it seems like most people got between 60-70ish.. If you hear anything about the program or other people's scores let me know! I am sooo anxious and nervous!
Yeah I think it has changed because when the proctor showed me how to look at my results she said "and those are the averages so far.." so I think it adjusts whenever people take the test, but I think the final average for the program is 62 because I took the TEAS at the latest date possible for the fall.
That's very odd.. there's no way a 'national average' should be going up 10 percent over the course of one week. There are probably hundreds of thousands of people taking this exam across the country, if not millions. A ton of people would suddenly have to score in the 90's to raise the average that high, so something isn't right.
When I took it back in December the 'national average' was also 72.8%. I'm guessing this is a regional mean and not a true national mean. I live in the Northeast, CT specifically.. maybe it's higher in this area of the country? I'd be curious to see if there is any correlation in what it shows as the 'national mean' vs what your location is.

Ok that did help...but one more question does MSC accept you once you've taken the TEAS or do you have to complete all 6 core before applying and getting accepted just wondering because I was looking at another school and once you've taken the TEAS and they accept you you're a pre nursing student until you complete those core then you start the program the following semester.....
