low teas score

Published

ok so i am very discouraged. i am tryin to get into macon state nursing program and it is competitve. I made a 62.7 on the teas test. needless to say i always do bad on standardized testing. All the school needs is a 62 to look at u. my GPA is good 3.7. do yall think i have a chance of getting in the program?

Well, I was thinking about that last night because the scores are so drastically different. I know when you take it you have to choose what you are taking it for (RN, LPN, etc...). I took it for the RN track, so maybe it takes the average of all those taking it for that purpose? So the "national average" for LPN takers could be one score and the RN score could be entirely different. Also, is there a selection for BSN TEAS takers? Just a thought... I live in Florida, by the way.

This is what I got on Friday:

Adjusted Individual Total Score: 86.5%

Mean - National: 72.8%

Mean - Program: 74.0%

Percentile Rank - National: 94

Percentile Rank - Program: 94

Reading: 97.5%

Math: 82.2%

Science: 73.3%

English: 87.3%

The science was so not anything I studied for. I was in shock when I got to that portion of the test! Hopefully it will go better the next time I take it.

When I took it on Tuesday the national average was 74 for RN takers. I got 80% overall. So I hope you average is just your area or at least your school. Good luck

This is what mine said..

Adjusted Individual Total Score: 70.7%

Mean - National: 62.0%

Mean - Program: 64.2%

Percentile Rank - National: 74

Percentile Rank - Program: 72

and it was for Macon State BSN program. Was your TEAS taken on the computer?

oh there are different forms of the test so the averages could be different depending on which form u take. just a thought anyway!

mine was for a wilson community college. my scores were:

adjusted individual score 80.0%

mean national 72.8%

mean program 74.0%

national percentage 75

program percentile 73

As I said, this is for a 2 year and it may depend on which one you are shooting for. Good luck:)

My school requires a 65%, and at orientation we were all told that you needed an 85% to be competative.Hmmm... Most people in my class got 75-92%. I took the test twice after I bought the study guide, it's a must!!!

What school are you trying to get into or have you already been accepted?

Thank you for all the advice/info!
