My local hospital is heavily recruiting nurses from outside the county. They are offering a salary range from 16,000 to 29,000 with LPNs at the low range and masters with maximum experience at the high end. It seems to me that the salaries are too low? LPN at 16,000 isn't much. RNs with master and experience at 29,000 seems low too. The ad they are using is very creative too, talking about the low cost of living and fantastic public schools and colleges here (not true at all). Why would someone move here for only 16,000 is beyond me. I suspect they won't recruit anyone at that pay scale. They are also recruiting a pharmicist for pay of 29 to 45 an hour. I'm not sure I should pursue nursing for only 16,000 a year. LPN school is all I can afford at this time but that pay is so low. Is this typical pay for all geographic areas?
