Love my new job

Specializes in School, FNP.

I recently moved and just got a new job (I had previously posted about not being able to work 12's due to a military and often traveling/deployed husband). I just wanted to say that I am so happy! Now, it is only the end of day 2, but it seems perfect. I know I have a ton to learn, but I am so excited to do it. The people are incredible too! My last job was good, but extremely stressful and I just knew that it wasn't a good fit, but it gave me a great base to work from. That is it, just wanted to post somewhere and gush a little. :yeah::yeah:

Am so glad you found something that fits the bill. Good luck.

Calibean,

May I ask what you are doing? I am still in school and often worry about finding a job after I graduate with hours I can work as I also have a military-often-deployed husband and 2 kids.

Thank GOD a person that likes their job. I was beginning to despair that everyone out there hated their job. Let's hear from more nurses that are happy on the job. Congrats to you!

I love my job too! Maybe we need a forum of our own - but it would probably be pretty dull without all the gripers.

I think if you read through posts it isn't that most nurses hate their jobs, they hate the abusive management techniques, poor doctor-nurse relations (usually with 2 or 3 of the same docs making life miserable for all and nothing being done from the managers) and high acuity of the patients with the nurse being expected to do more and more. But the job itself, I love, lol.

Oh, and btw, congrats on your great new job. Hope it conitues to bring you so much happiness.:nurse:

Congrats!! Always nice to read good news!! I'm so happy for you!!

ME TOO! ME TOO! ME TOO! :yeah: I LOVE my new job! Yes, it has it's drawbacks. Mgmt is a pain. Families are a bother. Lots of hard work and stress. All the same stuff you'd get with any other job, but I LIKE my company. I RESPECT my charge nurse. I LOVE my patients.

Nice to know there are a few of us happy nurses out there!

I got a job as a school nurse, but where I am, the schools are staffed with health techs and the nurses work out of the district office and are responsible for 4 schools. My hours are 8-3:15, I get all the same days off/holidays as my kids and all summer off (unless I want to volunteer for summer school). It is a really different atmosphere then the ER where I used to work. Good luck to you.
