louisville area schools

Published

Hi all:

My husband and I are both CNAs and decided we want to go into nursing. He has 3 years of college in a million degrees -- A's in psychology, chemistry, english, math, maybe a B in speech. Lousy gradepoint though from University of Louisville because his last semester he crashed and burned and didn't drop his classes. We have a child and qualify for some aid. I have a GED. We have been accepted at IVY tech but can't afford to waste money for a program that one or both of us might not get in. I have an appointment with the nursing supervisor there -- I am going to ask statistics, etc. my husband had high SATs so I know he can test well -- I only went to one year of high school but I will work my tail off to get in someplace. Any suggestions as to the easiest school in the area to get in? The cheapest? The best? Any suggestions? My mother in law cautioned me that we really can't afford to run up a bunch of debt only to find out we can't actually get in the program which is probably good advice. thanks in advance.

try gateway community college

The community colleges will be the cheapest. ECTC and I think JCC only count prereqs and coreqs (A&P, Math, Micro) for the GPA. You'll need good NLN scores.

Good luck!
