Ask yourself:

What is my REAL passion?

It's a known hard fact here in our country most of the nursing graduates have put aside their true desire for the reason of the promising golden opportunites of being an R.N. I have a friend who have worked for 10 years in the field of nursing. She's was successful and committed to her job. Although she's happy with her chosen career, something is still missing. She tried to pursue her REAL dream as a pre-school teacher...so she decided to pursue her dream before any regrets. She loved being a nurse but she has this certain "calling" to become a teacher that's been bugging her. Friends and relatives are against it and told her not to pursue the teaching field and just concentrate on her being a nurse but she still continued and now she's a full pledged teacher. Now she tells me that "both of those careers are great but nothing compares of acheiving that sense of fullfilment when you get to fill in your REAL joy and passion" She graduated with honors and now teaches in one of the best schools in the country.

So...what's your REAL passion? :)

Good point!

hi. don't loose hope. it's your career and it's your path you are taking. there will be a lot of hindrance along the way but then if you are meant to care or to serve then nursing is definietly for you. in the country, there are struggles in wages and all sort but not for all. if you really wanted nursing then i don't see any reason why change course.

Oh,sorry to say with using the word GO WITH THE FLOW. I did'nt realize what i wrote. I dont mean it. By the way, Wish you luck in your study and exams! I hope you could also take care of me sometime. "Passion" Thanks!

you have to be prepared for the very difficult job hunting in the phil

it even came from you, NURSING is not your ideal course. You cant deny the fact that you had set aside your first preference to join the bandwagon. Seems to me you forced yourself to love nursing, but dint really love it in the first place. Had you really been passionate about this course the whole time, you wouldn't even seek advice whether or not you should still pursue it.

A lot of nurses are unemployed, and a lot has gone to work in call centers after college. A lot have hospital work experience and still find it hard to get a job both here and abroad. There's hiring freeze everywhere.

While its still early you better think twice. I hope you make the right choice.
