Los Medanos Fall 2019

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Anyone out there applying/applied to Los Medanos for Fall 2019??? If so, with how many points since it's not lottery anymore?

Hello,

I am a student trying to apply for the 2020 application cycle and I wanted to know if Los Medanos has a preceptorship set up for their students. I am only asking because I found out Merritt College does not (which is a big factor in my decision to accept or decline a program). I hear from many nursing mentor/advisor it is important to choose a program with a preceptorship and I've met some that say it's not a huge deal?!?! If anyone in this thread has any idea or if anyone in this thread is a current or previous student, any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Congrats to those who got accepted and good luck to those on the wait list.

Hello there, I am a current nursing student in LMC and we do have preceptorship on our last semester.

KG92,

thank you for the information. ?

Hello everyone!

Anyone take the TEAS VI at LMC know if it is taken in paper form or on a computer. Also, if calculator allowed?

Kind regards

@jackiie_mo computer or not calculators are not allowed for the TEAs! It’s basic math you can do with a pen and paper.

Hi, I took it last year and it’s all done through the computer. Calculators are not allowed. However, You can use a calculator on the computer. Beth will give you scratch paper for this portion.

@KG92

Hello! Okay so don't bring my own calculator because it will be provided through the computer and with scratch paper too, correct? ?

Just wanted to update those of us who have gotten this far! I just received an email from admissions because I reached out wondering what exactly the next phase means and what happens to those of us who don’t make top 30. She let me know that for the past 3 years they have run through the entire alternate list! So for those of us who have made it this far as long as you pass TEAs it’s looking REALLY good for our admission ?

@Jordelorde

That is great!

I want it to be June 17th already lol That is the day we receive the official letters!!

Yeah, everything will be provided. I would recommend purchasing an online practice assessment through the ATI testing website. This really helped me when I took it last year since it’s the same format as the real test.

@KG92I am looking into purchasing the practice tests on ATI, since I already completed the book's practice test. I am just trying to get as much practice and studying done possible before 6/11 since the test is 6/12. I am hoping I can continue forward in the program and remain competitive. ?
