Los Medanos College (LMC) ADN Fall 2024

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I am posting this for the students applying to LMC's Nursing program that starts in Fall of 2024. This is for everyone to meet, congregate, post statistics, and help one another in the application process.

The application opened on 1/3/24 and is set to close 2/2/24.

Good Luck Everyone!

I applied to LMC last year and received phase 2 notice the last Tuesday of May. When I talked to the program, because I had an unexpected situation I couldn't move forward with phase 2, they told me historically they give notices for phase 2 the last Tuesday of May and hold the TEAS the second Tuesday in June. I'm hoping that will be the same this year!  I think it's great they give the option to take the TEAS on them 🙌🏽

I applied 1/27 and received my phase 1 letter today (50 points...if only I had gotten a better grade in English when I took it over 20 years ago I'd be looking at 55 points).

That's awesome! I appreciate the update, looks they are on track to get notices out by the end of the month - I hope my guess is right and it's the last Tuesday of the month. Last year my notice hit at 5:06 pm FYI 😜

I think 50 phase 1 score is very competitive based on what I have heard from someone in this years cohort. The goal is just to make it to phase 2 then take or submit your TEAS!  🙌🏽

I didn't think to ask, that would have been awesome information to have too!  Can I ask what the past thread was?  I'd love to see the past totals too!

Hi Lisa,

I made some notes from last year's thread. The lowest score that I saw was a total of 128.

Interesting!  I went back a while ago to try and find it and just couldn't find it, not sure if it was deleted. But that's fantastic news of 128 aggregate score!  Of course it ultimately comes down to each years unique applicant pool, but a great reference. TY

I could not find the old thread either. Do you know anyone who is taking classes at LMC? Do you know what the school schedule is like?

I met (had a facebook DM convo) with someone briefly in a group we are in together. She's in year one. She said classes are Tu/Wed. Clínicals are Th/Fri - this is consistent of what I've seen over the years.

what changes - yearly - is the contracts for clinical, so the contracts for this years cohorts could be different for next years, but the days are always the same, and of course there will be some who get day vs night shifts.   I've mentally blocked off Tu-Sat (sat in case of night shift and nap after) Sunday for self-care etc and Monday for studying

I'm just assuming I'm getting in - based on nothing other than LMC is the only school I applied to and last year I made it to phase 2 but dropped out due to a family obligation but crossing my fingers it works out!

I'm happy for you, and I believe we will get into the school. Sending lots of good vibes to this group.

This info is very helpful! LMC and Chabot are my top schools, but both are 40 minutes away from my place. I have a kid and hope to keep a part-time job during school. I will make myself as flexible as I can to work with the school schedule.

Sorry for asking too many questions. By any chance, do you know the location for the clinical? Are they in Pittsburg?

I'm all about the good vibes 🙌🏽. lMC is about 15 minutes from me. I'm married with 3 kids. I work from home and will cut back significantly. I don't know where the clinical date, they change every year and by rotation. But I believe they are at hospitals and clinics so they would not be isolated to Pittsburg, I imagine throughout the East Bay. Where would you be commuting from?

Thank you!  Yeouch I'm so glad I can retake the TEAS!  Otherwise I'd be looking at 125 points total (I took my first TEAS before finishing my prerequisites to get a feel on it).

Has anybody heard back about phase 2?
