Los Angeles Harbor City College-RN

Has anyone applied (or planning on applying) to the RN program at LAHC college? Is there a waitlist that you know of? Any comments, tips, or general info on this school is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Ok, I got it too. Anyone know what the assessment tests are about? Is it just the critical thinking one or are there others. ?????? Yikes!

Hey... whats this "ATI Critical Thinking Entrance Assessment Test" ? anyone have any clue what this test is about and are we able to study for this? I don't want to get a low score!

Okay, after doing some research I found out the test will be geared towards math and science...

example: Tom is taller then Mark and Mark is taller then Jordan. Who is the tallest out of the 3?

I hope this helps!

edit: I believe the test will be 40 minutes / 40 questions.

Tiger you rock! That doesn't sound too bad. Where did you get this info? I did a google search and came up with nothing helpful...

i also did a google search... but i was a little bit more thorough... :D

the guy/girl said that this is a test you can not study or prepare for... it's either you know it or you don't!

i suggest everyone not to stress over this assessment test, besides... it doesn't effect our entrance!

:) I found that post after some more digging. :) It doesn't sound very hard. I wasn't sure if we are having any other tests, the email implied tests plural. Either way, I look forward to meeting you and your wife, and everyone else on the 24th! Yay!!

Congrats to all of you. I didn't get into Harbor--but I just got accepted to the Accelerated BSN program at Mt. St. Mary's--so I am totally happy with that. I wish you all the best of luck, and thanks for all of your kind and supportive posts you've made over the last few months. See you all in the hospital! :)

That's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!! Enjoy the program and yes, see you in the hospital! :)

trogina congrats! :yeah: mt st. mary was one of the schools i was going to apply to, but I didn't have english 102 nor philosophy completed.

walksfar75, i think we are testing for 1 assessment test and the rest of the payment will go towards future "practice" assessments. not sure though...

At your orientation you will be measured for uniforms, take the critical learning tests, given a list of things you will need to purchase, and a list of things youw ill need to have done (background checks, immunization records, nurse insurance) given your schedule for the fall term and the program will be explained to you. I graduated from Harbor Colleges nursing program and I found it to be a fantastic program. The instructors are great and you have your own nursing building that you will love.

Anne-thanks so much for posting what to expect! :)

Thanks AnneS!! I think we are all anxious to know what the orientation will be like and nice to hear from someone that has been through it!
